Alex Flesias, B.A., LLB

 

Alex is a partner at Hammond Flesias who manages a general commercial litigation practice with a strong focus on construction law and real estate related matters.

Alex graduated with an Hounours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from the University of Toronto in 1997. Following the completion of his studies at the University of Toronto, Alex proceeded to obtain a Master of Arts degree in Political Science at York University in 1998.  Alex obtained his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2000.

Alex’s practical experience includes articling at a preeminent regional law firm in Mississauga, continuing his practice at a construction litigation boutique law firm and running a sole practice. Alex entered into partnership with Richard Hammond in 2007.

Alex focuses on achieving ‘win-win’ solutions for clients and always strives to find a reasonable solution to the legal issues faced by his clients.  However, he is also a determined litigator who is prepared to forcefully argue on behalf of his clients in order to push the matters to a reasonable conclusion.

Alex has significant experience in representing various stakeholders in construction lien matters.  He is knowledgeable regarding the trust provisions of the Construction Lien Act which he believes to be a much underutilized tool. Alex also has extensive experience in litigating complex disputes involving financial institutions and commercial landlord and tenant matters.

Alex has appeared before all levels of Court in the Province of Ontario, including the Court of Appeal.
