Richard Hammond, B.A., LLB
Richard is a partner at Hammond Flesias who practices civil litigation, primarily in the area of construction law.
Richard graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with honours from the University of Western Ontario (Huron College), in 1994. Following the completion of his studies at the University of Western Ontario, Richard proceeded to obtain his LLB from the University of Saskatchewan in 1998 and became a member of the Law Society of Alberta in 1999.
Richard has practiced construction law almost exclusively since he was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2001, and had the privilege of being mentored by first rate litigation and construction lawyers.
Richard always attempts to bring a practical approach to every lawsuit and brings a unique perspective to the practice of construction law as a result of his experience growing up working in the construction industry and his employment on residential, commercial and industrial construction projects. As a result of his experience working in the construction industry, Richard has an ability to speak to contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders in language that is not limited to legalese.
Richard has appeared before all levels of Court in the Province of Ontario and has significant experience representing suppliers, sub-contractors, contractors, owners, architects, engineers and other stakeholders in the construction pyramid.
